The "Home of America's Army," Fort Riley, Kansas, states a mission in providing training, readiness and deployability for three active component combat brigades; mobilizing and deploying active and reserve component units; and providing effective support for soldiers and families during peace and war.

Near Junction City and 50 miles west of Topeka. The base Family Readiness Center is set to help with relocation needs such as housing.

Health care is provided by the 48-bed Irwin Army Hospital. Other family and career services are also available, including the Army Career and Alumni Program, which provides eligible military personnel, Department of Army Civilians, and their authorized family members comprehensive transition and job assistance. Leisure and recreation activities on base include an outdoor recreation center, indoor gyms, pools, basketball and sports fields, arts and crafts, auto repair shop, bowling, and hunting and fishing among various area lakes.
